You will learn how to . . .
The answer: You are never too old, or young to become a writer.
Writers come in all ages
Ever thought about being a writer? Hey, me too! At a young age I loved telling and writing stories. But my most favorite of all was listening to stories. It’s probably the reason that even now I still love having stories read to me. When I happen upon a really good book I find myself reading out loud just to hear the words. There’s a free tip about how to catch more typos as well. Anyway . . .
Trying something new can be scary.
Why would you want to put yourself through that?
A very good question. It could be that you get a thrill from the unknown, the excitement of not knowing what will happen next.
Sometimes it's not so much the fear that stops us from trying something new as it is our comfort level. Let's face it, we humans like to be comfortable. Change is not always comfortable. How then, are we to know if we can succeed at something if we don't try. How will you know if you like swimming if you don't get in the water? How will you know if you like brussell sprouts if you don't try them? Just so you know, I still don't like them. No amount of butter, cheese, or grandma's special recipe can make me like them. But hey! I tried them at least. Now I know.
It was 2 A.M. and I had been up for nearly two days. Then it hit me and I had to face reality. I was going to start my own publishing company. Just for this one book, I lied to myself. You know the lie. That little untruth you tell yourself so you can feel better about what you’re doing. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that bad of a lie. But, I did tell myself that I was only going to do it once. That was the real lie. In the back of my mind I know my subconscious had to have been laughing at me.
If you’re only doing it once, why are you sending so much time on it?
And there it was. As soon as I started researching how to publish a book, I knew I was hooked.
